Here is a breakdown of how the votes were won by Barack Obama, making history as the first elected black President. There are still two states remaining (MO, NC) that the numbers are not accounted for.
The Democrats also rocked the vote both in the Senate and the House, taking the control over the Republicans.
It is official; the nation has projected Barack Obama as our next President of the United States of America. Barack Obama won the Presidential race with 284 electoral votes, over McCain’s 145. (I will post the final vote counts when they are finalized.)
I’ve been following the election outcomes throughout the entire evening and into the night. When they first announced that Pennsylvania went to Obama, it was a great positive feeling towards the new path we’ve all been seeking. Throughout the night, they began to announce key states such as Ohio and New Mexico being won by Obama, I knew it was inevitable before we hear these words– our 44th President of the United States is Barack Obama. When he won California as well, this just confirmed his President elect position. This is absolutely an epic moment in history; we have elected the first Black President. It seems so surreal. I am more than pleased and proud to have been apart of this election, and to have witness this during my lifetime.
This is the day everyone. The day we change the world. Please do whatever you can to GET OUT and VOTE!
I casted my vote this morning @ 9 AM. The lines were not long at all, and it only took me about 10 minutes max. If you’ve ever complained about how messed up this country is; now is the time for you to make a change. This election is history in the making, and depending on our votes, we will be electing in one of these individuals: an African-American President, a female Vice President, or one of the oldest President into the United States of America, for the 1st time in history.
I know that this election has ignited the minds and voices of the young, black, and poor. We’ve been enthusiastic about the election and have had many discussions, mainly due to the popularized skits of Tina Fey and the SNL team. However, just being enthusiastic about it is not going to help change the future of our country. The young voters of our time needs to put those words into action. No matter what your position is about each candidates, it will not matter if you don’t actually go out to make your voice be heard.
For those that have already voted this morning, you can continue to help with the process by influencing and reminding those that have not done so to go out and vote. If you are not sure where you need to go to vote in NY, you can locate your polling locations here.
Remember, YES WE CAN – change the world! Obama ’08
The phone retail for $180 with a 2 yr. contract, and $400 with no service agreement.
This is actually the first time hearing about this personally. I hadn’t any idea that Google was in the works of realeasing it’s own version of the “iPhone Killer”. I work just one block away from a T-Mobile store and have seen poster ads of the phone, but had no idea this was it.
Very good Web browser (Not surprising to hear this. It is Google after all.)
Highly configurable
Solid call quality
CONS
Poor music and video options
Subpar document support
No Flash support in browser
No Microsoft Exchange e-mail connectivity (Not worth purchasing if it’s not enterprise friendly to those in corporate America).
No Bluetooth connectivity
Nonstandard headphone jack
The phone’s interface is pretty clean and sleek, but it doesn’t appeal to me much. I also doubt it comes close to being able to call it as the “iPhone Killer” on the T-Mobile’s platform though. I’m not a fan of T-Mobile’s service, so it’s very unlikely that I would be interested in purchasing this phone. I will still be looking forward to the new BlackBerry Storm on the VZW network.
A 3rd grader asked the following question: “What does the Vice President do?”
Sarah Palin answers: “They’re in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom, and it’s a great job and I look forward to having that job.”
How can anyone, and I repeat ANYONE possibly vote for this woman? If McCain/Palin gets elected, and God forbids anything happens to McCain, this woman is going to be running the United States of America.
Has anything that have ever came out of her mouth even comprehensible? I swear, as soon as she opens her mouth all I hear in my head is the “teacher” from Charlie Brown… “Whoomp whooomp wha whoomp wha whoomp?”
And one of her spokeswoman (trying to save face), even had to nerve to explain that the way Sarah answered the question was so that the 3rd grader could understand that the vice-president is also president of the U.S. Senate. So, I guess Sarah Palin doesn’t have enough confidence in our school system that she “dumb” down to answer a 3rd grade question? Is that it? Enough is enough please. This woman is just plain DUMB and DUMBER with each and every interviews.
This picture was taken at an event in Reno, Nevada on Oct. 21st. The scarf says, “Vote.” And yes, those are donkeys, Sarah, not elephants.
Is this woman just that dumb, not so smart, or just a closet Democrat!? I wonder if she even knows that she has on a scarf with the Democratic Party symbol around her neck? For all those Palin supporter, do as Sarah Palin says now: Go out and VOTE-Donkey!
If you’re an avid gamer, than some of you have been well anticipating the release of Little Big Planet, which was originally set to release tomorrow Oct. 21st.
Unfortunately, the hightly anticipated game has now been delayed with a release date of Oct. 27th due to references of text from the Holy Qur’an. The two expressions; “Every soul shall have the taste of death” and “All that is on earth will perish” appears in one of the stage background music tracks. The soundtrack “Tapha Niang” is by the Grammy award winning musician Toumani Diabaté, and was released two years ago. Diabaté is also said to be a devout Muslim.
Now, is this all just a big fuss? Who knows. According to the person who made the complaint to Sony, it obviously wasn’t for him/her. Personally, I don’t see the text itself as being “offensive”, if that is any indiciation of why Sony is delaying the release. I mean, it is the true and factual text taken from the Holy Qur’an. I think it was more so a business oriented decision to delay the release, rather than due to the religious factor. As I’m sure, Sony wouldn’t want people not buying a “G” rated game simply because they failed to remove the Qur’an references from a song. After all, this is the unique platform game that all gamer critics have been awaiting.
The “controversial” point of these two texts and why it was asked to be removed is simply put; in Islam, it is taboo to use any text from the Qur’an and mixing it with music.
I have heard the entire song originally composed by the musician, and I think it is beautiful.
Gen. Colin Powell announced his endorsement for Barack Obama on the Sunday morning NBC’s show “Meet the Press”. (Read more about it here.) This is by far the most important endorsement of the campaign for Obama.
Colin Powell is one of the most respected public figures, and both Barack Obama and John McCain has been seeking for his endorsment for quite some time, but looks like Barry got the vote.
Now, is it just me or is McCain sounding real salty right now based on this comment? Hmmm
Appearing on “Fox News Sunday,” Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., reacted to the Powell endorsement, calling Powell “a longtime friend.”
“This doesn’t come as a surprise,” McCain said. “But I’m also very pleased to have the endorsement of four former secretaries of state — Secretaries Kissinger, Baker, Eagleburger and Haig. And I’m proud to have the endorsement of well over 200 retired Army generals and admirals. But I respect and continue to respect and admire Secretary Powell.”
So I heard that Sarah Palin would be making a cameo on SNL last week, but didn’t know when. Turns out it was this Saturday and I missed it. For those of you that also missed the show, here’s the cameo.
(I wasn’t able to find a YouTube video, but the link is from NBC’s SNL website.)
So I watched it, and ehhh it wasn’t anything special. Then again, why would she make herself look more foolish than what they have already done in all the SNL skits, right? Amy Poehler was the highlight of the show.
I have to admit, while watching the debate last night and when John McCain began speaking about “Joe the Plumber”, I was thinking in my mind — is he’s making up a fake character to try to help his campaign? Apparently NOT!
The latest buzz all around the media is ‘Joe the Plumber’, or otherwise known to his friends and family as Joe Wurzelbacher. (I know genuis McCain called him Wurzelburger)
So, thanks to the wonderful world of Google, I googled him and found the conversation ‘Joe the Plumber’ was having with Barack Obama when he was campaigning in Ohio.
